The eighth continent

I miss Sweden, but Madagascar has been a kind caretaker. There are no venomous snakes on Madagascar, no deadly spiders or other poisonous or dangerous insects. You don't have to worry about lions, baboons, hippos or bull elephants lurking in the bushes at night. Most good diving spots are surrounded by reefs keeping the big sharks out. The endemic species include cute and cuddly lemurs, sleepy and colorful chameleons, Lovebirds, Sunbirds and lover baobabs. Even the land itself is an apprehending custodian - billowy soft hills, gently eroding away by smooth and restful sub equatorial winds, coloring the rivers in a warm red. Massive, serene baobab forests telling their steady tales of a bygone era. The fragrant country side with its aura of vanilla, pepper and ylang-ylang. The children always looking happy and the dogs spending their days on the side of the street, lazily enjoying the warmth of the asphalt. The laid back life style, the ambient Malagasy rhythms and the succulent fresh seafood... I will miss Madagascar.

See you on tuesday Sweden! :)
